Multidisciplinary Approaches to Trauma Prevention, Response, and Recovery

Adversity and trauma leave students, teachers, schools, and communities behind if not addressed. Responding comprehensively to the risks and impacts, The Center for Safe and Resilient Schools provides a range of trainings and consultations that deliver research-tested interventions and programs to support safety and recovery. We cover the spectrum of support, from threat assessment to crisis response and long-term recovery. Our interventions and trainings support the entire school community, from mental health providers on campus to classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, school leaders, and staff.

Proven Impact

The effectiveness of The Center’s interventions and trainings has been researched and demonstrated in numerous studies.

CBITS

In a randomized controlled study, students who received CBITS had clinically significant reductions in symptoms of PTSD and depression (Journal of the American Medical Association).

Bounce Back

A study demonstrated that students who received Bounce Back had significant reductions in PTSD and anxiety-related symptoms (Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology).

TISE

An evaluation of Trauma Informed Skills for Educators (TISE) found that 100% of educators who received the training would recommend it to a colleague (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration).

SSET

An evaluation demonstrated reductions in symptoms of PTSD, depression, and teacher-reported behavioral problems in students.

LIFT

Students who took the online LIFT program showed promising reductions in PTSD symptoms and behavioral difficulties (Psychological Services).

Our Impact Transcends Borders

The Center has provided training and technical assistance to schools and communities in every state to enhance their trauma-responsive programing. The Center has also been called on to support and respond to national and international crises.
